"Monetary Financial Institutions" (MFIs) are central banks, resident credit institutions as defined in Community law, and other resident financial institutions whose business is to receive deposits and/or close substitutes for deposits from entities other than MFIs and, for their own account (at least in economic terms), to grant credits and/or make investments in securities. arrow CALL FOR COLLABORATOR POSITIONS
The COREP and FINREP projects are being carried out by a number of collaborators distributed in different cities. The project is reaching a significative milestone with the current implementation of XBRL technology for Banking Supervisor reporting in a number of countries in Europe. On this new step, this call for collaboration has the objective of assure the project stability in the medium and long term.

arrow CALL FOR COLLABORATION ON BEST PRACTICES
The core members of the CEBS XBRL Network have created a Best Practices portal based on Wiki technology, located at www.xbrlwiki.info. We invite every project adopting CEBS taxonomies to collaborate by opening discussions, adding information or comments or by using the information contained in the Best Practises Portal as inputs into any further XBRL development projects.

arrow COREP and FINREP taxonomies. Preproduction Risk Assessment
The best practices in project management stated that a Preproduction Risk Assessment should be submitted to the stakeholders, in order to clarify what are the potential risks, and the mitigation methods to deal with. The XBRL Network of the CEBS has been mandated with development of COREP and FINREP taxonomies. The COREP and FINREP taxonomies will be used in a number of European Countries for Banking Supervision. The reception of supervisory reports based in these taxonomies will start along 2007. The risks to be faced using such taxonomies depends of a number of European, National and Entity factors. The aim of this document is the description of the generic risks and the potential mitigation methods. The CEBS stakeholders should have all in information available in the decision making processes.

arrow Priorities on XBRL Standards
Europe is upgrading its Supervisory practices, implementing the code-named FINREP (IFRS based) and COREP (Basel II) reports. An important number of European Banking Supervisors are implementing XBRL solutions for these reports. The Committee of European Banking Supervisors is supporting such efforts, acting as coordinator through its XBRL Network.The collaboration of the XBRL Standards Board is kindly requested to help in this important effort, with particular emphasis on the following list of priorities:
1st Priority: XBRL Dimensions
2nd Priority: XBRL Formulas
3rd Priority: XBRL Versioning

arrow Call for participation
The Committee of European Banking Supervisors has decided to achieve a common solvency ratio reporting framework, called COREP (Common Reporting), for credit institutions and investment firms under the future EU capital requirements regime. The work is primarily focused on regulatory own funds and Pillar I capital requirements, credit risk, operational risk and market risk. The aim is to reduce the reporting burden on firms and encourage an increased level playing field across Europe.
